Tony Stoutenburg

Tony started out as the son of a Lutheran seminary student, lived in three states and attended 4 different public schools before attending Augustana College (Illinois), planning to be an attorney … and maybe President. Instead, he went into the international freight forwarding business (don’t ask, he can talk about it forever) starting as a salesman, getting promoted to the warehouse. driving a truck, working in the office, and wound up in Seattle, Washington when he realized he was supposed to be in seminary, studying to be a pastor.

At Luther Seminary in St Paul, MN, he met Pam, and they were married in 1991. They moved to Washington State, where Tony served at Chinook & Naselle Lutheran Churches, and became involved in the WordAlone Network, which eventually led to the formation of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).

Tony has been pastor of Grace since 2005.

He like “Da Bears”, misses his convertible, sings tenor, and, no, Tony is not his real name. (Another long story; don’t ask.)

Pam is a nurse at Essentia Clinic in Hayward. Tony & Pam have two sons, Tony Lang of Saginaw, MI, and Matt Stoutenburg, a recent graduate of UW-Stout.
